Our First Week Home
The first week home from the hospital was an experience I might never forget. The day we got home from the hospital was my Mom's birthday. She was very excited to spend her birthday helping us out and getting us settled. Plus spending the day with her Grandson was also special.
Having Baby J at home finally was amazing, it was also a challenged I never anticipated. We had some humps to overcome, I was very grateful my parents were there to cook and clean for us. I never imagined how challenging it would be to fed yourself! Here are some photos from our first week home.

Greatest Expressions
Even in Baby J's first few days he was having some amazing facial expresions and funny poses. Here are some of our Favorite.
Baby J's First Visitors
Baby J and I spent 4 night in the hospital. We had an amazing experience. The food was surprisingly good. We had many visitors and some who we forgot to take photos of. We apologize to Nicolette & Amy! But we loved seeing everyone!!!
Here is a photo of my breakfast one morning, it was truly the best hospital food ever. Notice Baby J nicely swaddled in the background.

My Delivery
I had a friend who wanted to know how my delivery went. I thought I would write a post about my experience...
It all started May 29th... I had a planned C-section that day for noon. We drove anxiously to the hospital, as we arrived I was thinking wow next time I leave this hosptial I will have a baby in tow.
I was admitted into triage where we had to wait for my operating room to
be ready. Well, we ended up waiting 5 hours. Here are some photos we
took while we waited.
Me and my giant baby belly

I am about to become a dad!
The operating room was all windows so it was super
bright and freezing but it felt so good. I sat on the operating table as
they pulled out all the instruments. Then I just started to cry, just waiting for what was about to happen had every emotion you could imagine passing through me. They
let Pete come into the room to console me till they were ready to put the epidural in.
I had the most amazing
anesthesiologist. He was very calming and gentle. My OB sat in front of
me held my hands and we made some jokes. The epidural was not painful
at all just the sensations from it were strange and warm. I then layed on the operating table. (which was super tiny and thin I wasnt sure how I was going to fit on this thing)
Pete came back into the room, the curtain was up. He sat next to
me held my hand and rubbed my head. I felt nothing, it was an out of body
experience. I was so nervous the whole time I kept making jokes and everyone was cracking up. Every once in a while I felt my body being pulled and tugged around. Then my OB announced "baby is about to come out". As they pulled out the baby there was so much pressure on my lungs it took my breath away. Then he was out, I was just in shock. The first thing I asked was "well is it a boy?" They confirmed, then the OB said wow Annie you had a nice size baby. I saw him and said HOLY COW thats a "big ass
baby". Everyone had a good laugh.
As Pete was checking out our baby and telling me how amazing he looked, my OB started taking out my amniotic fluid and I heard her say WOW WOW WOW over and over again. I finally said ok whats going on. She said "I have never in my life seen this much amnitoic fluid". She told me I had 1000 cc's of amniotic fluid. An average woman has 100cc's. YA no wonder my belly was so big, also the baby was just having a great time swimming inside me. He also came out almost perfectly clean. Then he was off to get the APGAR score where he received a 9!! Pete took some photos of Baby J while he was getting cleaned up.
They handed Baby J to Pete and we got to give him hugs and kisses for the first time, then he had to go back to the doctors. Pete then went into the waiting room where the Grandparents and two of baby's Aunts were waiting and he announced we had a beautiful baby boy. I then got stitched up and sent over to recovery, where I got to hold Baby J for the first time.
